A village called "Seneca Village" was cleared off to build Central
Park. It was a small village with mostly African American communities residing
here in the Manhattan Borough.

Garth Brooks’ 1997 concert remains to be the most crowded day in the history of
the park. The event was attended to by 980,000 people.
