I Am A 99er
I have recently written my story leading into a website that I have been working on and have received some great but mixed responses to it. Some understand what I am doing but sadly some are looking at it as a call for sympathy. Please don’t take it that way as I am using this situation as a call of strength and a reminder as to my will to succeed.
For those of you who don’t know what a 99er is, please let me enlighten you as to the state of affairs here in the United States and quite a few other countries.
What is a 99er?
The term ‘99er’ refers to those who have been out of work for over 99 weeks. State and federal unemployment benefits run out after that period, so these job seekers are left without a safety net.
A record 6 million people are now unemployed and 2 million of them are in the 99 week club and that number is predicted to rise. The hardest hit are the over 45 at 16% and that is just disgusting..
Look I am a 99er and I have exhausted all my benefits. I have not been able to find even a part time job but I am not going to allow this to beat be! This is why I wrote the article I did so I can tell you who I am and what I can offer to help me make enough money to survive this recession.
I have been involved with the internet since around 1995-96 and have experienced just about everything that has happened over the years from the early years of the BBs to the new web 3.0.
