Backpacks are probably the single most convenient form of luggage. We’ve been carrying them around since we were little kids. We now use backpacks for everything, from going to school, college or even work or for travel. Backpacks are no longer limited to students and travellers, working professionals too use them on a daily basis to carry their daily essentials. When you carry your world in your bag, it essential that you spend a good amount of time before choosing it. If you choose the right backpack it can last you as long as you want it to.

Here are some tips to consider while purchasing a backpack.

1.       What to look for in a good back pack: The first and foremost thing you need to look for, in your new backpack is water resistance. That does not simply mean rain proof, but spill proof too. Your backpack needs to protect your belongings when it’s raining outside. Some casual backpacks even come with a rainproof tarp that will protect your pack during a heavy downpour. The second thing to look for is a thick but light material. One that is not likely to tear easily.

2.       Back-support and internal frame: If you’re someone who cannot carry too much weight around on your back, consider investing in a backpack with trolley. These can be carried both ways, on your back or pulled around. These are extremely convenient for travel and especially for business trips, where you need to carry around formal wear, laptops and what not. Also a backpack with an internal frame, will take most of the weight off your back and is less likely to cause you a lot of problems.

3.       Sufficient padding: Along with back support you backpack needs to have sufficient padding along the straps, the back and even the waist belt if it has one. If you want to use your backpack for travel, buying one with a waist belt is ideal.

Size matters: Consider what kind of use you have for your bag. Whether you’re going to be using it on a daily basis, what and how many things you’re going to be putting in it. How heavy is it going to get. Are you going to be using it for business or travel? All these things will help you in deciding what size to go for. Choose the side that is ideal for your use and don’t go for a bigger or smaller piece just because it looks good.
