Former Pink Floyd Rocker Roger Waters calls out WKYC during Quicken Loans Arena Show
by John Smith TechnicianFormer Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters called out WKYC Channel 3 during his concert on Thursday night for airing a story about local dancers who made a decision not to participate in his show. On 20th September, WKYC Channel 3’s Dawn Kendrick introduced us to twelve young and talented dancers from the popular, Shaker Dance Academy. These dancers were scheduled to perform with the rock legend at the Q.
Thursday night, these dancers opted not to go on the stage. Tracy Webb, co-owner of the Shaker Dance Academy, told Kendrick that she didn’t want her dancers to take part in the controversial nature of the former Pink Floyd Rocker bassist’s show. This tour is basically anti-president, Trump, including massive floating pig with Trump face on it.
Webb, co-owner of the Shaker Dance Academy said that “I don’t want my children to be a part of the negative images being presented”. She also said that “I had no idea this was going to be anti-anything other than hate”.
All the members of our dance academy didn’t know about this anti-Trump content of Waters’ show. It was Kendrick who asked them about it on 13th September (Wednesday). To be obvious, our WKYC crew didn’t warn them, but only asked if they were having an idea of it.
During tonight’s concert, Waters take decision to call out
WKYC for publishing the story. WKYC-TV, I have no clue what your program is and
to be very frank, I don’t give a damn, Waters said at the concert.
