Ford Focus C-Max A Unique Rival Wins the Green Car Vision Award
Ford Focus C-Max is a five seater car and has a large amount of the cargo space that can be further increased by folding the rear seats to flat. It shares the control blade independent rear suspension from the Focus fleet of Ford. The Zetec and Titanium trims are available in the new models of C-Max along with three engines including a 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6 litre diesel and a 2.0 litre diesel.
All the engines have different output ranges from 103bhp to 138bhp. The all new C-Max is very low on the fuel consumption; average fuel economy of the 1.6 litre diesel is 61mpg while keeping the engine on the tax friendly mode, and it has only 119g/km of CO2 emissions. It is a multitalented vehicle that won’t let you unsatisfactory while driving. Ford C-Max proved it as an ideal car for small families with a more roomy than a traditional hatchback.

Ford has introduced the four-cylinder 1.6litre EcoBoost with two power bands, low band with the 148bhp and can get the package from zero to 62mpg in 9.4 seconds to pick of the horde. It has pulling power like a honking horse of 180 lb-ft that can overtake other vehicles on the single carriageways like a bullet. On the higher end of rocking engine version, a 177bhp of output can blast the package from 0-62 with a benchmark dash of just 8.5 seconds; it is a powerful driver on the Ford models that will never cause dejection for its riders with the bunch of power.

The gearboxes range from a five-speed mated to the 1.6 litre petrol engines, a six-speed manual gearbox mated on the 1.6 litre EcoBoost models and three diesel engines (1.6TDCi of 93bhp, 1.6TDCi of 113bhp and a 2.0TDCi of 138bhp, and the 2.0 TDCI of 160bhp). Top of the power range diesel engine is 2.0 litres that are quickest in the fleet with 160bhp that is capable of pulling the package from 0-62 mph in just 9.2 seconds.
The Ford Focus C-Max with the Zetec trim includes the list of accessories with the remote central locking, child locking system, alarms, stability control system, emergency braking warning system, airbags in the front, sides and curtain, rake-reach-adjustable steering wheel control, air conditioning and leather steering wheel. The Zetec is also equipped with the DAB Radio, CD player, CD Audio system with six speakers, USB/iPod and aux-in connectivity, Bluetooth with the voice control, electric heated mirrors, front fog lights, ISOFIX child seat mounting, heated front screen and washer jets and steering wheel mounted controls.

The equipment list did not stop here yet there is always a chance of being better in the class so that the Zetec family pack updated with the power operated tailgate and integrated rear blinds for extra cost. On other hand the Titanium trim is not behind in race to be a complete package for the riders, it adds auto front wipers, auto headlamps, dual electronic auto climate control, auto dimming rear view mirrors, hill launch assistant, key-less starting, cruise control with the speed limiter, Tyre pressure warning system, floor mats and an upgraded audio system to nine speakers and a 4.2 inches touch screen, center console with armrest and storage bin, lumbar adjustment on the passenger seats, scuff plates and a sun glass on the overhead console with child observation mirror.

The Ford C-Max is a live example of reliability and second to none in the safety features with the comprehensive suite of advanced yet active safety technologies. It has an electronic stability programme (ESP), anti-lock braking system with the electronic brake force distribution system, corner brake control system. It has also equipped with the traction control system, blind spot information system, active park assistant. C-Max was awarded with the maximum five stars on the Euro NACP crash and safety testing.
