Fix: Dragon Naturally Speaking 13 Doesn’t Work in Windows 10
Back in 2015, when Microsoft released its new operating system i.e. Windows 10. Many users, who were using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 on Windows 7 or Windows 8 could easily upgrade their Operating System to Windows 10 without any facing any troubles while using DNS 13 at Windows 10.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 is supported on Windows 10. Customers who have a qualified Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 device that already has Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 installed should be able to upgrade to Windows 10 without needing to re-install DNS 13. Similarly, customers who upgrade to Windows 10 should be able to subsequently install DNS 13 without issue.
However, the Windows 10 has different functionality for Desktops and Tablets. At desktop, the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 do work with all previously supported applications but sadly with the tablet mode, the DNS 13 continues to operate normally with previously supported applications only.
Hence, the Dragon NaturallySpeaking 13 had some common issues with Windows 10 on tablet like –
• Variances in the Behavior of the DragonBar
• UI Elements like Learning Center would work in full screen mode.
• Voice Commands with Outlook 2013 don’t work well
On the other hand, most people couldn’t run their DNS 13 with Windows 10 properly, their main screen didn’t appear, hence it was completely unusable. So, here we have come up with the resolution to their problems.
How to Solve Dragon Naturally Speaking 13 Problems in Windows 10?
Before getting started, make sure to update your DNS to its latest version and so your Windows 10. If updating doesn’t work, try any of the solutions listed below –
1. Turn Off Compatibility Mode
• Right click on the icon of DNS 13 and select ‘Properties.
• Here, you will find the Option to ‘Compatibility Tab’. Run this program and uncheck the mode.
• Save the Changes & Run Application Again.
2. Don’t Run Natspesk.exe as Administrator
• Locate natspesk.exe in your DNS Installation Directory.
• Right click the .exe file and choose Properties -> Compatibility Tab and Uncheck Run an Administrator.
• Save the Changes & Restart PC to Run the Application Again
3 – Use USB headphones
Many users got helped in fixing the issues with Dragon NaturallySpeaking software by the use of their USB headphones.
