First Signs Of Liver Disease In Women: Early Symptoms & Preventative Measures

by PRC Agency PR

How healthy is your liver? We often forget the importance of our liver, considering it is an organ that can regenerate even after extensive damage.

But just because it can do that doesn’t mean we should abuse it! It’s better to have a healthy liver from the very beginning than wait for it to heal itself.

Scott Smith of My Healthy Liver has published a new guide on the 14 early signs of liver damage in women. Unlike men, women may manifest different symptoms of liver damage due to their hormones, particularly through the fluctuations of estrogen and progesterone during their menstrual cycle.

The new guide states that one of the earliest signs of liver damage in women is chronic fatigue. If you feel perpetually tired despite sleeping for eight hours and not doing anything physically taxing, then you should see your doctor as soon as possible. Smith clarifies that chronic fatigue, however, may be a symptom of other illnesses, and you should not worry so much if that is your only symptom.

However, if the fatigue manifests with abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, and problems with digestion, then it may be a sign of early liver damage. This is especially true if you are undergoing menopause or have a history of hormonal imbalance.

It’s always better to play it safe. If you feel that something is wrong with your body: Listen. Your body is a powerful machine, so if it’s hurting or not working as it should, it will let you know.

Abnormal levels of estrogen may cause the liver to work harder. Studies have shown that elevated levels of estrogen may trigger the liver to release more bile to break down the hormone. This may cause a domino effect and possibly damage the organ as it attempts to balance the digestive system.

Smith explains that there are natural ways to remedy early liver damage. One of the best ways to do this is changing your diet to include more vegetables, particularly cruciferous ones. This is due to their detoxifying properties, which may help rebalance hormones.

My Healthy Liver regularly releases guides on how to take care of the liver. It advocates for natural medicine and holistic methods to heal any early signs of damage.

Smith added: “When it comes to liver disease, women may experience unique signs that differ from those seen in men. It is essential for women to be aware of these specific indicators, as early detection can lead to timely medical intervention and improved outcomes.”
