Finding the Right Coverage Options for Your Motorcycle Insurance

Insurance Coverage Options
As the
mercury in your thermometer continues to rise, it is the perfect time to pull
your motorcycle out of storage to make sure that it is ready to hit the road.
Before you head out on your first trip of the season, it is important to make
sure that you are protected with the right bike
insurance. Keep these coverage options in mind so that you can help to
provide the right amount of coverage for your bike.
Bodily
injury liability coverage – if you are found to be at fault for an accident, bodily
injury liability will pay for the cost of medical bills and lost wages of
anyone else who was injured in the accident.
Medical
payments – if you or your passenger were injured during an accident, medical
payments coverage will pay for necessary medical expenses after the accident.
Property
damage liability coverage – if you damage another person during an accident
that you cause, property damage liability will cover the cost of repairs.
Personal
injury protection – after an accident, personal injury protection will
reimburse you for any costs that are associated with the accident, including
lost income, medical bills, childcare, and funeral expenses.
Collision
coverage – any damages that are done to your motorcycle during an accident will
be covered by your collision coverage.
Comprehensive
coverage – sometimes known as “other than collision coverage,” comprehensive
coverage will pay for any damages to your bike that are the result of an
incident other than an accident, such as fire or theft.
Additional equipment
– typical coverage options will only provide coverage for a stock bike. If you
have added on any after-market products, additional equipment coverage will
cover the extra cost.
