The groom wears a formal suit, a dhoti-kurta, or a sherwani for his marriage.

Then arrives at the Baraat –
The groom is made to sit on a horse and takes an extremely grand entry into the bride's house called the Baraat. The friends and family members of the groom merrily dance and sing to celebrate the great day. After the groom enters with his baraat, he is welcomed by the bride's mother with flowers and sweets.

After that, the guests are served delicious food. Once the guests leave, the groom and bride have dinner together along with some of their close friends and family members.

Tying the knot –
Once the couple finishes eating, they are sitting on the mandap for trying their knot. There stays a pundit who recites the hymns and chants. And explains the couple about their after marriage duties. Then the groom puts sindoor on the forehead of the bride and ties a mangal sutra around her neck. Once these rituals are performed the groom and bride become husband and wife.

Bidaai –
• On the completion of the marriage rituals, the bride has to leave her maternal home, which is called bidaai.
• The bride is made to leave in a palanquin or a doli.
