Female infertility: a barrier to motherhood

Before you learn about female infertility it is important to know the two kinds of infertility among female and male. Primary infertility is a condition in which a couple is not able to conceive successfully after one or more year of marriage.

 On other hands, secondary infertility is a state which is common among couples who already have the first child but not able to conceive another one.


 A couple may face either primary or secondary infertility due to which they are not able to become parents. The state of childlessness may occur due to either or both the partners. If we talk about female infertility then it may arise because of age, hormonal issues, lifestyle, physical problems, and environmental issues.

 There are a number of female infertility causes which may become an obstruction while you try to get pregnant. At times, diagnosing a cause can be very difficult. Luckily, the presence of various treatments has made the path easy for infertile couples. Apart from this, PCOS can also affect fertility among females. It is caused due to hormonal imbalance that impacts ovulation. 
Endometriosis: It is a condition in which the tissue develops outside the uterus. Due to its growth in fallopian tubes or pelvic organ, it may cause scarring. If it grows in tubes then it will block the tubes that will affect the egg and sperm from uniting. 
Unexplained infertility: It is another reason for female infertility in which the cause is never found. This condition is so frustrating for both couples and doctors. This problem corrects itself with the passage of time. If you experience this issue then you should not delay in infertility treatment.
Damaged fallopian tubes: This is the most common issue encountered by the females. Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes can keep sperm uniting with egg and affects the fertilizing process. The reason behind tube blockage is pelvic inflammatory diseases or previous surgery in the abdomen or pelvis. 
Lifestyle: It is the most important though avoided factor in case of female infertility. It is seen that many females smoke and drink alcohol. This can affect your hormone level which further leads to infertility. Besides this, late marriage is another factor that results in infertility. Females are getting married at a later age which affects their egg quality and quantity.

Treatments

Female infertility is a common problem nowadays but it results in the incomplete family. Luckily, female infertility treatment can help you to overcome the mentioned issue. Treatments can either given through medication or surgery. Addition to this, if you are facing issues in getting pregnant then assisted reproductive techniques can help you. If you have ovulation problem then your doctor may suggest you fertility drugs for stimulating ovulation. If your fallopian tubes are blocked then your doctor may suggest tubal surgeries like laparoscopy. With advancement in science female infertility is no more an untreatable issue. One only needs to adapt to early consultation from the doctor. Detecting issue will help you to overcome the symptoms and help in finding the actual cause of infertility.
