The maximum weight of checked baggage is 50 pounds and the maximum size is 62 inches (length + width + height) for each checked piece of luggage. The overweight items range from 51 to 100 pounds and oversized items up to 62 inches but less than 80 inches will be received for overweight and oversize baggage charge of $75 per item.

Carryon Baggage

The carryon items are limited to one bag in addition to one smaller, personal-type item. Southwest Airlines confines carryon bag dimensions to 10 x 16 x 24 inches. Your personal item must be placed under the seat in front of you, and fitting within 18.5 x 8.5 x 13.5-inch dimensions. If you’re traveling with an infant or small kid, it is to inform you that the proper use of a Child Restraint System (CRS) enhances child safety during the flight. Traveling with an infant on your lap on a domestic flight:

• One child more than 14 days old and under two (2) years of age, not occupying a particular seat, might be taken free of charge when traveling with an adult (12 years of age or older).

• Although a boarding pass is not needed for the infant, you will require a Boarding Verification Document.

Traveling with the new-born baby in an FAA-approved car seat:
