The Mazda Company is nearly one hundred years old!  It originally started in 1920 as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co. Ltd and nearly went bankrupt at the end of the 1920’s.  The Mazda name first appeared on the Mazda-Go, a rickshaw created in 1931, the first vehicle to be produced by the company as it changed tact from manufacturing machine tools.

Mazda is the only company to successfully develop and install a rotary engine into some of their vehicles.  It was part of the reason behind Mazda’s success and rapid expansion in the 1960’s.  Mazda has had several ups and downs through the life span of the company; however, they have always remained true to the concept that every car should be built to an exacting standard.  The new, 2016 Mazda 6 adheres to this principle:

Stylish

This sedan looks fantastic.  It has a wide stance and sweeping lines flowing down the sides, directing the air away from the car and increasing stability.

Spacious

The car will comfortably carry five adults and luggage, making it an excellent choice for weekend getaways or soccer practice.

Efficiency

The car complies with all current emissions regulations and still manages to produce 184 horsepower with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.  It provides an average of 40 mpg and can be purchased in either diesel or gasoline variants.

Safety

The all new 2016 Mazda 6 comes with a host of safety features:

·         Front airbags

·         Side airbags

·         Side impact air curtains

·         Dynamic Stability control

·         Blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert

·         Lane departure warning

·         Collision warning

·         Mazda radar cruise control with an integrated proximity warning system

Regenerative Braking

The car also makes use of the latest technological breakthroughs.  It benefits from a regenerative braking system which uses the energy created from the brakes and even the engine at idle to power the electronic systems in the car.  This increases fuel efficiency and is better for the environment.

Electronics

As well as the safety and looks of the vehicle there are a variety of other features which will ensure the car is well received by anyone:

·         Automatic LED headlights- they use a sensor to know when to turn themselves on or off

·         Heated front seats

·         GPS system with seven-inch touch screen and the latest maps already installed

·         Bluetooth connectivity for phones and audio devices

·         Keyless entry system

·         Rear facing camera; this will soon be the only option for viewing behind the car

·         Mazda navigation system

·         Surround sound audio system, complete with subwoofer and eleven speakers

·         Dual zone climate control

·         Rain sensing wipers

·         Optional leather seats and a range of alloy wheels to choose from.

The car handles exceptionally well, despite being a little heavier than its predecessor.  It is a stylish, well put together vehicle which will keep any discerning buyer happy.  To find out more, buy or simply book a test drive, visit your local Mazda dealer.
