Lingaraja Temple: This temple is the largest temple in Bhubaneswar and is believed to be constructed in the 11th century by a Somvanshi King, Jajati Keshari. You will find some Sanskrit scripts from the 6th and 7th centuries. The structure of the temple has four main components – the vimana, the bhoga-mandapa, the nata mandira, and the jagamohana. Visitors can witness beautifully done carvings on the walls of this temple.


Barabati Fort: Located at a distance of less than 35 km from Bhubaneswar, Barabati Fort was constructed by the Ganga Dynasty in the 11th century. The fort is built on the banks of the Mahanadi river and lets the visitors witness the amazing view of Cuttack. Beautifully carved gateway and 20-yard wide ditch are some of the famous attractions of this fort.


Udaygiri Caves: When King Kharavela was in power, various Jain monks had carved and used to live in these caves. Udaygiri caves consist of a total of 18 caves and displays mind-boggling carvings, some of which date back to 2nd century BC. The historical and archaeological facts of this place make it a must visit place.
