Face Painting Kits

by Abhinav G. Movie Enthusiast

Face painting kits come in a variety of configurations from the very simple children’s face painting kits with nothing more than a handful of paints to far more elaborate theatrical kits including numerous paints, gels, stencils, applicators, brushes, and sponges.

These kits can range in price from under five dollars to over a thousand. Generally speaking, as we get toward the hundred dollar ranges and above they tend to be focused more on theatrical and professional applications.

Face painting kits can be specialized and may fall into a number of categories such as:

  •  Simple face painting kits for use at fairs, flea markets, and church bazaars
  •  Professional clown face painting kits
  •  Professional theatrical kits

Wheel for Walk Around Pallet

When searching for face painting kits it’s important to consider what application you will be using them for. If you are going to paint children’s faces at the local county fair, you’ll want water-soluble paints that are non-toxic and wash off easily.

If you are doing theatrical face painting you will want paints with more staying power, so you would avoid the type that are easy-on/easy-off.

Paint Pallet – Professional

Other considerations would be the type of applicators, whether sponges are included, and whether a palette is supplied. For example, if you are just painting your kids faces for a holiday costume party, it’s a once a year activity and you probably don’t need a palette, but if you are going to be setting up a booth at a church bazaar or other event, you don’t want to go chasing paint tubes while a half dozen hyperactive pre-schoolers are waiting in line.

Kids aren’t known for their patience in the first place, so you don’t need anything to slow you down. Keep these things in mind and choose wisely in your search for the right types of face paint kits.
