Eye Safety tips for Diwali

Diwali is a festival of Lights. Everyone from children to the elderly waits for this festival. Fairy lights, candles, diyas, rangoli are definately the great combination of Diwali. One important aspect of Diwali is burning crackers but unfortunately, we take our sights for granted. Eyecare is must as it is one of the precious gifts we have.

Please follow the guides listed below to take care of eyes during Diwali.

  1. Be careful with the fireworks and crackers. Always maintain a distance while burning it because even a small sparkle can damage your eyes. parents must take care of their child as they are notorious and won't make any distance from the fireworks.
  2. Always wear cotton clothes while bursting crackers. Cotton clothes are very handy and don't catch fire easily.
  3. Don't rub your eyes immediately after burning crackers. Firecrackers include radioactive chemical which is not good for the eyes.
  4. Don't wear contact lens because the contact lens creates irritation when comes in the contact of fire.
  5. Avoid Smog if possible. Smog is the combination of smoke emitted by crackers and mixture. Avoid stepping out especially the day after the Diwali. Avoid going to Diwali prone areas where crackers are used most as it is not good for the eyes and lungs.
  6. Wash your hands thoroughly after burning the crackers because of radioactive chemicals which is injurious to the eyes.
  7. always wear protective glass in Diwali because there will be fireworks and crackers which is definately harmful to the eyes.
