The first time I used the unit on my arms.  I placed one pad near my forearm and another one on my upper arm because I’d been experiencing tension from too much typing (hmmm :P).  I set it to just a basic massage at level 2 and it barely felt like anything.  So I turned it up by one notch at a time until I felt something that was more like massage.  Then I turned it up a few more notches just to see how it would affect my muscles.  Whoa! It was fun, and a little painful, to watch my arm jump involuntarily for a few seconds.

Next I attached the pads to my shoulders near my neck and the other set on my hips.  It was nice to be able to massage two areas at once with one program but adjust the intensity for each separately.
