We all want our automobiles to be in good working order, just as we want our bodies to be in good shape. It's a stretch to suggest that we worry more about the general health of our devices than we do about our bodies in most instances. 

There are a variety of operations that promise to improve your car's health in the same way that there are a variety of diets and aesthetic surgery that claim to improve your health. If your vehicle has beyond that threshold, such as 50,000 kilometres, the decarbonization process should be skipped.

3. This is why you don't know how much carbon has been accumulated on the pistons; and if the carbon deposition is removed, there's a chance that a gap may appear between the pistons and the cylinder wall, resulting in banging and a loss of compression pressure, lowering the car's performance.

4. Decarbonization should never be done regularly. There's a reason it's not included in a normal or even annual auto maintenance plan.

5. Before deciding on decarbonization, make sure you've ruled out any other factors that may cause the engine to run sluggishly or inefficiently.

What Is the Need for Decarbonization?
