Essential rules for living with less

by Tammy Martin Blogger

Being a minimalist is not as simple as everyone thinks. See, being a minimalist is not just fitting everything into one backpack. It is more of cleating your clutter both from your house and your life so that you will be able to find your purpose in life along with the peace that it can bring. So here are some relevant rules to know about once you have decided to try out what is personal finance.

Evaluate and prioritise

The first rule would be to step back and start to observe the thing around you. Evaluate your lifestyle, the items in your home, the home itself, your attitude towards it and your perspective. Ask yourself some important questions like if you have an item which you own a lot of versions of. Or if you have a closet that is filled with clothes that you no longer wear anyways. The better you see things like that, the more comfortable you can switch to living with less.

Declutter everything

After your evaluation, the next important thing to do would be to declutter every single area of your home. This would mean that you should try your best to get rid of all the items that may seem overwhelming to you or even impossible to use anymore. Every single corner of your house needs to be decluttered as well so make sure to do so. Commit yourself to clear out space, and in the end, you might find yourself having fun.

Think before buying

Now that you have decluttered, and you have a lot of space in your home, you will think about buying new things. You might go into the department's store and be wanting a lot of things you think will be able to fill the spaces in nicely. Well, do not do that. Think it through, think about it thoroughly before you think about buying anything. After all, you do not need a lot of things; you need the ones that are very much important to you. Do not buy anything that would turn out into clutter later.

Go for high quality

So, you should think before buying anything, that is true but when you do buy something that you have decided you need, go for the item that is of the best quality. This would last longer so you would not need to repurchase something of the same kind.
