Error -6175,0: An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file

QuickBooks Desktop returns the following error when you try to host multi-user access for your company data file:

An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact Intuit Technical Support and provide them with the following error code: (-6175,0)


This QuickBooks error code 6175 occurs when QuickBooks Desktop is unable to start the QuickBooksDB service needed by the QBDataServiceUser to host company files due to a program time-out. This may be caused by firewall software, content blockers (cyber-sitter programs), or other issues that can prevent the service from starting.

If you are unable to download and use the QuickBooks File Doctor or if your issue continues to occur, please try these advanced troubleshooting steps.
