Embryo Donation with Go Health Consultants

by Ivf Surrogacy Ivf Surrogacy

Embryo donation can occur between a donor and recipient known to each other, or facilitated through Go IVF Surrogacy to recipients who do not personally know the donor.

This procedure is similar to egg donation. However, instead of borrowing the egg and the recipient’s husband’s sperm for fertilization, both the egg and the sperm are derived from donors or couples who are going for their own IVF cycle and decide to donate the extra embryos to another couple.

Indications for embryo donation

There are selected groups of patients to whom embryo donation is recommended:

  • When both the partners are infertile
  • Couples who are at a high risk of passing on genetic disorders to their offspring.
  • Women with recurrent IVF failures

Who can be an embryo donor?

Patients who have completed their families and have additional embryos in storage will often consider embryo donation as one of the options available to them.

They consider embryo donation for a number of reasons, including:

  • A belief it is ethically preferable to donate rather than to dispose of embryos
  • A feeling of compassion for other couples struggling with fertility.
  • Financial reasons, their cycle cost is reduced considerably as the recipient would pay for the embryos being donated.

The medical process of donation is relatively simple, though the emotional process can be quite difficult. The most important aspect of embryo donation is adequate counseling and the consideration of all of the surrounding issues for the donor and their family.

Can an embryo donation help me?

If other fertility treatments have been unsuccessful (or are extremely unlikely to be successful), one of our IVF specialists or counselors may suggest embryo donation as an option for you. You must have completed your own treatment, including the use of any frozen embryos you have in storage, and be under the age of natural menopause (51 years).

Couple matching involves both couples approving the other as a donor/recipient of the embryos. Couples will be matched by exchanging non-identifying information about them.

Using embryos donated by others

If you want to become a recipient of donated embryos, you must have completed your own treatment, including having used any of your own frozen embryos in storage.

You will require at online counseling sessions to discuss the social, legal and emotional implications of being a recipient of donor embryos, as well as screening blood tests. You will also be required to sign the relevant consent form.

Once you have been signed on the embryo waiting list, we will inform you about a month earlier of the embryo donation cycle to visit India. We normally prefer fresh embryo transfer in you along with embryo transfer in the donor mother. A fresh transfer increases your chances of success.

The gift of life for infertile couples

For some couples and individuals, donor embryos may give them a better chance of having a family than using donor sperm or eggs. Our embryo donor program has helped many couples achieve pregnancy – couples who may have tried other fertility treatment programs without success.
