Easy Ways to Differentiate Best Criminal Advocates from Fake Ones
In June 2015, the Bar Council of
India (BCI) chairman Manan Kumar Mishra took the whole country by surprise when
he revealed that 30% of all advocates in India are fake. He told the audience that
BCI was already in the process of weeding them out.
From 2015 to June 2017, how many of
fake lawyers it has been able to weed out, there is no exact data available
about it. But a very strong case to support the argument of BCI chairman was
the case of Law Minister of Delhi who had a fake law degree.
The question that now remains to
answer is how a common man in India will be able to filter bad lawyers from the
best criminal
lawyers in Delhi. If you will end up hiring inexperienced or fake
lawyers, you may face consequences of it.
Disadvantages
of preferring amateurs over best criminal advocates
The logical thinking says that hiring
an amateur lawyer could save you a lot of money but the reality is it could
actually cost you a lot of money. The new lawyers are inexpensive than best
criminal lawyers in Delhi, but at the end, you end in spending much more than
you would have assumed. Your attempt to
save some money early on in the process can prove you costlier later on.
The inexperienced lawyers have no or
a negligible experience with clients as compared to best criminal lawyers in
Delhi. So they can’t show you much. So
till the end, you will remain unsure of how he/she will argue your case in the
court. That will put lot of stress on your mind.
The inexperienced or fake lawyers
will not a have a staff to support like best criminal lawyers in Delhi, they
will be handling every aspect of your case themselves right from the job of a
front desk to arguing in the court. It is obvious managing so many tasks
single handedly will leave them with a very less time to devote to your case.
How to distinguish Best Criminal Advocates from
fake ones
It is very easy to spot a fake lawyer from best
criminal advocates. If your lawyer fails
to place his roll number that is the first signal indicating the lawyer may be
fake. It is doubtful if your criminal advocate writes PTR in place of Roll
number. It is a number assigned to every
lawyer in India. A lawyer in India gets this number at the time of signing the
roll of attorneys upon passing the bar.
You can confirm from the Supreme Court to
verify from the records in the roll of attorneys about the lawyer. The listing
of the lawyers is done alphabetically. You will come to know everything about
the lawyer, is he/she is dead or living, and his/her date of admission to the
bar and roll number.
Unlike best criminal advocates, fake lawyers will not have a case history to show you. So you should ask them to show you the case history of clients they have helped in the past.
