Before we begin with the steps to make this delicious recipe, you need to have a couple of ingredients handy for an easy and quick preparation. The ingredients that go in the spinach and cheese corn balls include ½ cup of chopped spinach, 1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese), 1/4 cup whole wheat bread crumbs, oil for deep-frying, 2 processed cheese cubes, each cut into 6 pieces, whole wheat bread crumbs for rolling, 1 tsp green chilli paste, 1 cup boiled, peeled and mashed potatoes and salt to taste. Ensure that you have all these ingredients handy so that you don’t keep your little bundles of joy waiting for long.
Firstly, you’ll have to mix ingredients like spinach, green chili paste, bread crumbs, paneer and salt in a bowl. Divide this mixture into 12 equal proportions and give them a shape of the ball. Press firmly in the centre of each ball to make a little depression. Add a piece of cheese cube in that little depression and again give them a shape of a round ball. Next, roll the balls in the bread crumbs so that they are coated evenly from all the sides. Further you’ll have to heat the oil in a kadai and deep dry the corn balls in it. Ensure that you fry only 3 to 4 balls at a time. Take them out when they turn golden brown in color from all the sides. You can drain the excess oil using absorbent paper. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or a sweet chili sauce. You can insert a tooth pick in it to make the balls look more appealing.
