Who does not like an uninterrupted shooting experience through its camcorder? Certainly we all do. But regular charging and discharging shortens the battery life and we cannot help it. As a result we end up with non working camera right in the mid of the important recording. That is the reason why professional cameramen always keep spare camcorder batteries with them when they are on some project. Every battery has a certain life but sometimes for many reasons batteries stop working much earlier.  It happens when we do not take a proper care of these batteries.

1.       Weather- The worst enemy of the battery is extreme weather.  Excess heat and humidity both are capable of making potential damage to your camcorder batteries. As much as possible keep them safe from heat and humidity and cover them properly to keep the batteries dry and clean.

2.       Don’t overcharge your batteries- Not only continuous charging and discharging affects the battery life but overcharging also damages the batteries. Mostly chargers alert you with green lights when the battery is charged completely. If you keep spare batteries with you, keep a coloured tape to mark your charged and dried up batteries so that you don’t overcharge your already charged batteries and save yourself from inconvenience and trouble.

3.       Buy good quality batteries- Buy camcorder batteries of good quality only and do not go for cheaper versions. Buy batteries of the same brand made for the exact model of your camcorder. These batteries last long and don’t damage your camcorder as well.

4.       Battery circuit breaker- Keep your BCB or battery circuit breaker clean and dry as it directly affects the health of your batteries. BCB checks the excess power flow and saves your device from getting damaged.
