Every home needs some interior renovation, and for that drilling in walls to make a hole to hang beautiful frames has become mandatory. Now a days, mechanical machines have been entered in homes to do some tasks by own. Drill bits are the one among them. As the requirement of drilling can be possible anytime in home, so call a driller man every time is not feasible. Hence, the need arises to keep the drill machine at home. However, it’s not that simple task to do. It follows some mechanism. Well, to get to know the mechanism, it is must to know about the type of drill to be used for the walls.

However, market has plenty of drill bit but the few basic among them which use mostly are Masonry, Wood, Tile, and Twist. Every drill has been manufactured for specific purpose. But, the Masonery drill bit can be kept in home and can also be used by unprofessional also as it is meant for wall drilling made of concrete, brick, stone, and block. Its tip is made of tungsten carbide fixed into a spiral shaft of steel. This manufacturing makes it capable in making hole efficiently and impeccably.

It is designed to use with hammer drill, but be aware from the cheap Masonry bits as they can melt or break due to heat and force respectively. And, also maintain the speed while drilling to fend off the bit and drill from damage.

Drilling the Walls of Concrete, Tiles, and Bricks

First off set the drill to hammer action and just make sure that what size of hole and the depth of the same you need. As you are not a professional, so mark a point on wall where you will be going to drill. Now put the drill bit on that market point, and keep the speed slow as aforementioned in begining, balancing the pressure on drill. It would be tight and strong enough to rotate on the same place without slipping. Setting on the hammer action makes in-depth drilling easy without any damage. Later the speed and pressure can exceed firmly. This type of drilling can make holes in walls of concrete, brick, block, and stone. Stop after reaching to your required depth.

The same Masonry bit can be used to drill ceramic tiles, but it needs the hammer switch to be deactivated. Eventually, you need a good drill and good drill bit for make smooth and proper hole.

Few more options are also there as per their job and the material on which drilling is need to be performed. Twist bit is used to drill the holes in metal, wood, and plastic whereas wood bit is used for drilling in woods as its name implies.  When moving to some professional use, then core or reamer bits is made for widen the existing holes. On soft surface, Countersink bit does the job of the same while the Spade bit can make the use of its sharp point by drilling large flat holes. Few other bits include Forstner bit for bore holes of very small depth and Wood Auger bits which is used with hand drill for large-diameter holes.
