Log in as the Administrator

Log in from an account that has administrator privileges or ask your network administrator to grant you administrator privileges and try running the program again.

Reset Update

If you are logged in as the Administrator and can’t find Spy Sweeper, you need to reset the update. Open C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooksxx\Components. Look for a folder called downloadqb and rename it to download.old.

Turn off User Account Control (UAC)

o Press Windows + R keys from the keyboard together and Run box will pop out

o Type Control or Control Panel into the Run box and click OK

o Click on System and Security then Security and Maintenance

o Under Security, you can see User Account Control

o Click on Change Settings

o On the next screen move the slider to Never Notify and then click OK

o Click on Yes, If UAC prompts you

Perform a clean installation of QuickBooks

Before you uninstall QuickBooks desktop make sure you have theLicense and Product number.

o Press Windows+R keys together and a Run box will pop out

o Type appwiz.cpl into it and then click OK

o Under the program list click on your QuickBooks Desktop and click Uninstall

o It may take some time to uninstall the program
