Does It Make Sense To Buy A Non-Inverter Split AC Today

by Rudra S. Consultant
The rapid increase in global temperatures has compelled both homeowners and commercial establishments to adopt air conditioning as a preferred way to keep indoor temperature in control. But that comes at a high cost. For households, buying an air conditioner is a costly affair and running it adds up more burden on the buyer. This is the reason why lower middle-class people refrain from buying an air conditioner. But sometimes things become too difficult that people end up making a decision to buy an air conditioner?

Now, here comes another question – Which air conditioner to buy? Inverter or Non-inverter AC? 1 Ton or 2 Ton? Window or Split? The capacity of an air conditioner is selected on the basis of room size and the region where you are living. However, the decision to choose between an inverter and non-inverter AC is a big complex. Though inverter technology is a new one and offers a lot of benefits to the homeowner, there are various things that could let you consider a 2 Ton Non-inverter Split AC for purchase.

If you confused between a non-inverter AC and inverter AC, below are the things you should keep in mind.

Cost - First and foremost, cost is the major factor that may compel you to choose a non-inverter 2 Ton Split AC. Non-inverter ACs are much cheaper than inverter ones due to the use of different technologies. And it is not just the buying price but maintenance cost too which tends to be on a lower side in the case of non-inverter ACs. Inverter ACs feature a newly advanced compressor which would be costly to fix in comparison to a typical compressor.

Availability of features – Another point to consider is the availability of features. In most cases, both inverter and non-inverter ACs have same features. Some of these features include air filtration, turbo cooling, self-cleaning, self-diagnosis and others. So, no matter which AC you buy, you are likely to get similar features in both types of ACs.

Easy Maintenance – Since, non-inverter ACs and inverter ACs come from same air conditioners manufacturer, you can rest assured about top quality and guarantee from the same brand. Be it cost and complexity associated with AC maintenance, non-inverter air conditioners are much easier than their counterparts.
Product variety – Though inverter ACs have become quite prevalent these days, finding a good quality inverter AC won’t be a tough job. All leading brands like Daikin, Walton, General, LG, Carrier, and Whirlpool have a dedicated range of non-inverter air conditioners for both residential and commercial applications.

How does an inverter air conditioner work?

Put simply, inverters are meant to adjust the power frequency that is provided to compressor motor of an AC. This mechanism is accountable for managing the rotational speed of the AC compressor. The compressor is a major component of an AC that maintains the refrigerant flow and thus, delivers the required cooling or heating output.

The primary task of an air conditioner is to control a room’s temperature, whether it is based on inverter technology or a non-inverter one. It delivers the cool air given the set level of the thermostat. In the case of inverter technology, air conditioners control the room temperature by modifying the speed of the motor without turning off and on the compressor frequently.

How does a non-inverter AC work?

Non-inverter air conditioners are often termed as standard unit. These units carry a lower energy-efficient performance. It would be hard to distinguish one from another; however, a majority of reliable brands term a product as an inverter type.
Non-inverter air conditioners are quite affordable, and this is why they have been used for several years.

A non-inverter air conditioner, in its simplest form is loaded with a fixed-speed compressor motor. Based on an “all or nothing” mechanism, the motor either remains in an on position or off position. This simply refers that the compressor motor will turn itself off when the desired temperature level is reached in the room and restart when the temperature increases.
