These windows, when opened, help in keeping the indoor environment airy and well-ventilated and are effectively resistant to pollution, dust and noise when closed. They are usually fitted in areas of the house which are warmer and more humid than the other parts and require a good deal of ventilation. Washrooms and sometimes kitchens are fitted with these windows.
  • Picture Windows: These windows are fixed and cannot be opened. They are mainly used for providing a view of the outside and to add to the elegance of the room. They allow light to enter but not air. They do not allow noise, heat, pollutants, etc. to enter the room or space they are put up in and are resistant to rainwater seepage.
