A turbine is a rotary mechanical device, which is used for extracting energy from a fluid flow and converting it to useful work. When combined with the generator, the work produced by a turbine can be used for electricity generation. A turbine runs with the support of various parts such as rotors, blades, shrouds, etc., but the one that plays a vital role in its working is none other than the diaphragm. A diaphragm is a hollow disk that holds the stator blades (nozzles) in their annular area. You can easily find a reliable turbine diaphragm manufacturer in Uttarakhand or any other place online. There are different types of turbines and all of them are used for different purposes. In order to know about them, keep reading.

Different Types of Turbines

There are various turbines available that offer different purposes. Some of those turbines are mentioned below along with their purposes:
·    Impulse Turbines : The impulse turbine consists of a wheel that has a series of split buckets placed around its rim. This eventually causes a high-speed jet of water direct towards the wheel. When the jet hits each bucket it splits in half and each half is turned back almost through 180º. Approximately all the energy of the water goes into the bucket and the deflected water falls into a discharge channel.

·    Reaction Turbines : The designing of turbine blades or the impeller blades are done in such a way that a force is produced on one side when water flows through it similar to an airfoil. The airfoil produces a great force that is responsible for lifting the airplane. In the same way, the blades are rotated by the same force.
Other than these there are more types of turbines available like gas turbines and wind turbines. The working of these turbines differs a lot from the above ones. But, the basic purpose of all the turbines is the same and that is to generate power. One can easily find a turbine diaphragm supplier in India.
