Alkalized water is becoming more and more popular each day because of the many health benefits it offers. It is said to help enhance energy level, lose excess weight, boost natural body defenses, improve metabolism, stimulate the digestive system, and lower down blood pressure and cholesterol levels. If you need to replace lost water when doing exercise or sports activities, one of the best and effective rehydration beverage you can drink is alkalized water.

While buying an alkalized bottled water can cost you a lot, in the long run, preparing your own will not only allow you to save a few dollars but will also ensure that you are drinking purely alkalized water. Here are some steps on how you can prepare your own alkalized water.

Water Distillers

Water Distillers is the most effective alkaline water system that you can easily use at home. You can start the purification process by boiling the water to kill all the viruses and bacteria present. The water is then vaporized in order to weed out the minerals from the lead, nitrates, bacteria, and other contaminants. Once the water condensed back into its liquid state, you now have a 99.9 percent purified water. You can then add a few drops of pH drops to make an alkalized water.

pH Drops

The pH drops are usually added to an alkaline water machine when preparing alkalized water. The drops do not just make the water alkalized but they also help eliminate the acid bacteria from the water. Using pH drops is considered the most effective and the easiest way to make an alkalized water. pH drops are also the best alternative to other water alkalizing machines such as water distillers and water ionizer.

Water Ionizers

This alkaline water machine is used by attaching it to the faucet like a water filter. A water ionizer is considered as one of the most convenient and effective ways to alkalize or ionize water. It works by separating the acidic water from the alkalized water through electrically enhancing the water. After the ionization process, you can most probably produce around 70 percent ionized water and 30 percent acidic water. You can use the ionized water for drinking purposes and you can also use the acidic water for bathing and cleaning since it has the ability to kill several kinds of bacteria thriving on your skin.

Baking Soda

If you do not have any alkaline water system at home, you can use baking soda to make alkaline water. To do so, you just need to prepare 8 ounces of drinking water and mix in 1/8 tablespoon of baking soda. Stir the solution properly to ensure that the baking soda is totally infused into the water. The high alkaline content of baking soda can help increase the water's properties. The only downside of using baking soda is that you can only prepare a small amount at a time. And, it is also not recommended for those people who are into low sodium diet because it has high sodium content.
