Differences Between SAP BI and SAP HANA

by Naresh Konda SEO, Digital Marketing, WordPress Designer

SAP BI stands for Business Intelligence Tools. It is available to display dashboards that are generated on a real time basis. These dashboards and reports are generated for the purpose of decision making for the top management. The data is input through InfoCubes from the ECC or HANA system and emitted to the SAP BO server. From this BO server, these infocubes in BI picks up classified data and displays in designated dashboards, i.e. pie charts, donuts, bar diagrams and the like.

SAP HANA, on the other hand, is a database of SAP. The original versions of SAPrun on MS SQL database, but SAP has upgraded its database to move on to HANA, where there is a compression of almost 4 times. Files of huge sizes are compressed to 4 times lower its size, thereby decreasing the server load and improving speed of the system significantly up to 8 times.

BI can be run on HANA, with a functionality called BI on HANA which automatically picks up data from the HANA database and prepares dashboards online. It can be viewed on your mobile phones, desktops or other mobile devices.
