Difference in between in a FHD TV and UHD TV

by Tanjni Pache Content Writer
The basic difference in between an FHD (Full High Definition) TV set and a UHD (Ultra High Definition) is that of the resolution. An FHD box has the resolution of 1920*1980P whereas a UHD set has the resolution of 3840*2160P. Moving on, an FHD television set is suitable for installation in lobbies, corporate offices, hospitals, educational campuses, etc. On the contrary, the UHD one is suitable for application at art centres, boardrooms, etc. since it displays 4K content.

Features in a Full HD TV:
A Full HD set has an advanced video processing chip which offers the feature of dynamic picture enhancement. This feature ensures that there is a balance in between bright and dark objects, thereby resulting in a real screen reproduction. Let’s read further to know more features:

Micro Dimming: This feature improves the picture quality by adjusting the brightness and the darkness. The screen becomes much appealing when the content being seen is dark in colour.

T-Cast: This particular feature allows users to view the content visible on the smart phone directly on the telly-box. Viewers can directly cast their favourite shows and movies directly on the screen and can even screenshot the favourite moments for sharing them on social media.

Sports Mode: An FHD set allows spectators to view the sports content with optimised images and sound. Users get to feel an immersive feeling while watching cricket and football matches.

Soundbox Speaker: An FHD set is featured with a stereo surrounding sound box speaker which is capable of delivering immersive 5.1 surround sound. The speaker comes with an inbuilt Dolby decoder which optimises the sound quality.

Features in a UHD TV:
An ultra-high definition television set, also known as 4K,  has four times the pixels available in a an FHD screen. Because of the presence of too many pixels, the clarity and the definition of the picture improve. Let’s read further to know more features:

HDR: This particular feature helps in delivering greater picture contrast and enhancing image details. UHD sets have a panel backlight which gets adjusted automatically and dimmed to boost the peak brightness of on-screen objects.

App Store: UHD sets have an inbuilt app store which provides a comprehensive range of applications including gaming, music, photo sharing, etc., which can allow interaction in between the telly-box and mobile sets.

Netflix & YouTube: A Full-High definition television set offers the service of Netflix -- inbuilt inside the telly. Spectators can watch award-winning movies and shows available on the application. FHD sets allow users to watch content available on YouTube in 4K quality.

An ultra-high definition television set is made up of a metal frame which has a good heat radiating effect and looks artistic inside the living room. If we compare a 43 inch full hd led and a 50 inch ultra hd TV, then the major difference is that of the HDR feature. Most of the features like micro dimming; Netflix, YouTube, etc. are similar in both.

Except for this, a 55-inch Ultra HD TV supports HDR Pro - capable of producing dazzling detail images -- along with the accurate reproduction of lighter and darker shades. Voice search and DTS Deconding technology are a few other features supported by the set.
