If you are the one who strongly believe in almighty God and follow prayer and meditation on regular basis, you might be aware of almost all regions and forms of God. Here we are going to talk about something related to Buddhism that you would like to read about and it will certainly add your knowledge about the religion. As the name itself indicates, Buddha Beads are number of beads threaded together on a string which are traditionally used while reciting the mantra during prayer or meditation. It is used to count the numbers how many times the concerned mantra is being recited. You will find these quite similar to various other forms of prayer beads in many other religions of the world.

In other words, it can be considered as a set of beads to recite or chant a mantra or any name of any particular God which someone believes in. Commonly it is made with 108 numbers of beads and some of them are also made with 16, 21, 27, 28, or 54. In Sanskrit, the practice of counting mantra is known as “Japa”. Reciting one 108-bead mala is counted as 100 mantra recitations; and the extra 8 repetitions are counted for amending any mistakes while counting.

History indicates that Buddhism was the very first religion in the world to use beads as form of devotion or mediation. Buddha beads are generally used for counting mantra but now people also like them for wearing as jewelry in form of necklace, bracelet, earrings and so on. If we talk about the material with which beads are made, these can be made with several different-2 materials like wood, sandalwood, red sandalwood, bodhi seed, semi-precious gemstones, rosewood, precious metals, lotus seed and many others.
