Devilish Fashion Without Feeling Cruella

Cruelty to anything just plain stinks. Cruelty-free products rock! A big no-no in the fashion industry involves anything that compromises living creatures toward the factory lines for a buck. What makes more sense is sparking those creative 21st-century juices for using and developing faux animal fashion products, ingredients, and appreciation.

Cruelty-Free Makeup

There's a party to go to. Everyone will be dressed to the nines and in full make-up. They will use whatever make-up is convenient. Too bad they didn't realize they had better options that would provide top fashion statements and save the world. Boom. Save the world. Now that's a party waiting to be attended.

But, wait. We didn't know make-up had animal ingredients. Why would they do that? That's a great question and a completely unnecessary practice where make-up is concerned.

A tip-of-the-iceberg tidbit is that many beauty product companies decide to use animal products for a variety of reasons. Often, outdated components are sadly more cost-effective. Animal parts such as lanolin (wool grease), carmine (crushed beetles), allantoin (cow urine), ambergris (vomit of whales), and a host of other cruelly-obtained additives are used. If the cruelty factor doesn't make an enormous statement, certainly the “gross factor" will.

Cruelty-Free Makeup Companies

Knowledge is power. That's where we spill the beans about cruelty-free make-up companies that can help create those desired devilish fashion statements and leave folks feeling good about their fashion choices.

- Thrive Cosmetics and Organics - 100% vegan, cruelty-free, GMO-free, gluten-free.
- Ogee Luxury Organic Make-up - All natural, cruelty-free, GMO-free, gluten free.

There are many cruelty-free make-up companies out there. Organic products seem to ring truer to many customers. Fewer animal ingredients, fewer chemicals and more natural elements like coconut oil, plant-based products, herbal mixtures, and essential oils are cruelty-free dynamos for our bodies, hair, and skin.

Cruelty-Free Accessories

Introducing cruelty-free accessories. What does that mean, exactly? Bracelets, earrings, belts, scarves, rings, necklaces - they all play a huge part in those fabulously devilish fashion statements we love and crave to show off. That said, we feel the intelligence building here and have a sneaking suspicion awareness of fashion suspect is piquing.

Favorite accessories come in many shapes, sizes, and materials. What we want are those super-stylish accessories that promote a friendly and inviting vibe without the buyer's remorse.

Instead of leather bracelets, explore how lovely faux leather bracelets are. They exhibit a very authentic feel and look without guilt. Keychains, clips, patches, jewelry, and other fantastical accessories are all offered with cruelty-free purchasing power.

Introduce young ones to cruelty-free headbands, bows, gloves, pillows, and more. Local craft stores carry all sorts of fun products that can teach kids how to make their own cruelty-free fashion items. In turn, they teach their friends how to save precious animal lives and the world just keeps getting better and better.

Cruelty-Free Fashionwear

As the message becomes clearer that cruelty-free items are highly preferred over sad-sack items that have compromised the life or lives of innocent creatures, let's see what more there is to offer the fashion industry and its consumers.

Plant-based clothing, green or eco-friendly clothing is a fantastic and cruelty-free resource option. The popular renewable resource factor of plant-based clothing stands up proudly to style, creativity, and supporting creatures who do not have a voice in the game.

What kind of clothes is cruelty-free? We're glad you asked. There are many life-saving vestment fabrics high on the cruelty-free fashionista's list. Some green and cruelty-free fabric options include:

  • Organic cotton
  • Hemp
  • Linen
  • Organic bamboo
  • Brewed protein
  • Apple leather
  • Cork
  • Wool or cashmere (no other by-products) from sheep
  • (We do not advocate bird down and feathers due to the oftentimes harsh methods used.)

Cruelty-Free DIY

We love the look of fur. Staying in vogue with high-end styles that include the look of fur don't have to be a challenge. For those do-it-yourself folks, making faux fur is as easy as 1-2-3. If you prefer, there’s also a lot of faux fur jackets and other clothing options available that look amazing without causing any harm.

Also, here's a great recipe for homemade lipstick to color lips and a cruelty-free world a much brighter shade of happiness:

Ingredients

1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon cocoa butter
3/4 teaspoon candelilla or soy wax
1-3 teaspoons beetroot powder for coloring
2 drops of peppermint or favorite essential oil
Lip balm tubes or small containers

Microwave wax, butter, and oil in a glass bowl until completely melted.
Remove from heat. Add beetroot powder and essential oil.
Pour mixture into a preferred container and refrigerate until cool.

Alternative ingredients include olive oil, beeswax, beet tops. Make sure to adjust measurement proportions accordingly before mixing.

Tripping the devilish and cruelty-free life fantastic is such a rewarding way to express impressive fashion statements. Dare to be daring by showing the world who and what really matters in fashion by going cruelty-free
