Desiree Popper: Putting an End to the Hesitation Behind Career Change Resolutions

by Martin Gray Content Writer

There can be several reasons why people choose to change their careers from where they currently are. Or it could be that their career values and goals have changed, and there is even a chance you might have developed new interests and are considering a future centered on your new hobby, etc.

For former Brazilian model Desiree Popper, it was her passion that made her pursue a career in acting during her modeling years. However, the reality of jumping jobs can be a lot more complicated than it seems out to be. After all, Popper was thinking of changing her career choice after working as a model in many notable brands such as Nikon, Fendi, La Perla, Schwarzkopf, Puma, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miss Bikini. But even as a model with a promising future, she was still passionate about acting and soon started studying at an acting school in Rome.

In 2013 she debuted in her theatrical career, "La vita non si mai sa" and then after a few years made it big on the big screen via some of her highly acclaimed works, which include "Restiamo Amici" and "Mare Fuori"

Furthermore, she is also thinking of approaching a career as a producer due to her success as the mind behind the production of SC 4, a short thriller movie where she also performed as an actress.

Making a jump from career to career wasn't an easy choice for Popper. But her relentless determination and positive attitude had encouraged her to make this decision, and she has not regretted anything in her job since then. But that isn't always the case for everybody, which is why Popper came up with a few tips below that can help people out when they are too afraid to change their jobs and bring more joy into their work by working somewhere where they can truly be themselves.

The List of Career Pros and Cons

It is important to find out your passions and what you are hoping to find and achieve in your new career choice.

You can start off by evaluating your current job and listing down all the pros and cons you can think of. Next, choose your career choice and write the pros and cons you are hoping you will obtain in this particular career; you can also apply this method to other occupational decisions.

This will help you in coming a specific choice of career to opt for based on the highest number out of them all that it offers you.

Getting Personal

Now that you have a clear idea about what you want, it is time for you to do extensive research about the current field. This is usually where you start asking around through your contacts to other people in the same or close to a similar choice of the company as well.

Giving it a Test Run

Always know what you are getting into before making any changes in your current career. This involves indulging in activities and internships centered around your preferred career choice to help you gauge out about what it will be like working full time in this new workspace.
