by Rudy P. SysAdmin at howtofindthemoneyCoal Water Fuel emulsion, or CWF, is a viscous, heavy liquid fuel that is produced by emulsifying micronized coal, ultrapure water and chemical additives. CWF can be stored, pumped and burned as a substitute of oil or gas in properly modified furnaces, boilers or turbines.
CWF burns cleaner than coal, and is free of coal dust or the danger of spontaneous combustion and has a combustion thermal efficiency similar to oil or gas.
CWF - Advantages
Coal water slurry fuel is made in two different mixtures:
- 70% coal, 29% water and less than 1% chemical additive
- 65% coal, 5% HFO, 29,5% water and less than 0,5% chemical additive
CWSF compared to coal (averages):
- increases the burning efficiency by 22.5%
- reduces air pollution by 70% (PM)
- reduces NOx by 20%
- reduces fuel cost by about 4‐5%
CWF can be used, after conversion, in all kinds of industrial boilers, cement plant and gas turbine, as a cleaner and cheaper fuel source.
