Covid-19 Second Wave: Are You Ready to Fight It?

by Laura P. Consultant
With the second wave of Covid-19 striking the world, it’s time to take extra care of your health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), many people recover from Coronavirus with mild symptoms, while others may experience severe illness.

This depends a lot on your body’s immune power, says one of the doctors at the Arlington urgent care center. Just like somebody may catch a common cold while going out in freezing weather, while some other person may not.

You don’t actually catch the “cold;” you catch the “virus.”

Similarly, how mild or severe your symptoms are depends on well your body is able to fight the Coronavirus. It also depends on your overall health. A person with co-morbid conditions like diabetes, heart disorders, and others may not do well when infected.

As the world reels under the threat of another Covid-19 wave, it seems smarter to keep a tab on your overall health. Carelessness could be your biggest enemy at present. So, if you are feeling even the slightest of symptoms similar to those of Coronavirus, you must immediately contact a doctor.

You may not want to rush directly to the Arlington walk in medical clinic as a precautionary measure, but you can certainly call a doctor at the clinic. Timely treatment can save you.

New symptoms

Fever, cold, cough, body ache, and shortness of breath are identified as the possible symptoms of Coronavirus. Now, doctors have identified some new symptoms. These include hearing impairment, gastronomical issues like diarrhea and stomach pain, vomiting, and pink eyes.

Apart from these, loss of sense of smell and taste and headache are already established symptoms of Covid-19.

How long will the Coronavirus stay with us?

A question that might be ruffling the minds of many at present – but the answer is not so pleasant. According to researchers, the virus might stay with us for decades, but yes, with not the same threat as now.

According to a doctor at the Arlington urgent care center, “The only thing that can save us is being more responsible towards our hygiene. Washing hands frequently, keeping a sanitizer with you when outside, wearing masks, and staying six feet away from people are the only ways to keep safe.”

Mask does a lot in saving you from the virus. A double-layered mask made from breathable cotton material that covers your nose and mouth properly is a must-have.

Being alert about symptoms is yet another virtue that can save you at this time. Also, you must spread the awareness about Covid-19 amongst people. Is there somebody around you not wearing a mask or being lax in washing hands? Tell them to do so immediately.

This is the time for everybody to be alert and agile regarding health matters. And don’t forget, Arlington walk in medical clinic is just around the corner. Never delay in consulting a doctor when you feel unwell or have any fear related to health. When Covid-19 attacked the world for the first time, we were not prepared. This time, we are.
