Corrections & Updates to TNPDS Smart Card
The
Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System have introduced the new and a modified
version of the ration cards and they are called the smart ration cards. They
are called smart because they are imbibed with a microchip which contains all
the data of the card user. The introduction of smart ration cards is another
initiative on the part of the Tamil Nadu government towards a more digital
India and take the normal ration cards to the next level.
After
applying for a smart ration card an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile
number of the card user. The user then has gone to his or her nearest PDS
center and collect the card by showing the SMS. The card can also be printed
from the official website of the Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System.
There
can be a number of reasons when a person might want to update or change the
details in the PDS database like for example change in local address, change in
our name after marriage etc. In any case, the individual can change the
information available in the database by simply visiting the official website
of TN PDS tnpds.gov.in
How to Update or Correct Information on TN PDS Smart Ration Card
In order to change or update the data available in the PDS database, the card holder can follow the steps given below:
a)Go to the official website of TNPDS.
b)Now click on “beneficiary log in” at the top right-hand side corner of the web page.
c)After this, you will be redirected to a page where you can log in by providing your registered mobile number and the OTP that will be sent to the registered mobile number.
d)After successfully logging in click on “smart card details edit” on the left-hand side of the page. Check whether all the details are correct. In case if the user wants to make any changes click on “edit” option to change the details.
e)In case if any documents are required while making, upload them when and where required.
f)Once all the details are corrected an acknowledgment number will be generated. Click on “acknowledgment” in order to acknowledge the corrections made and then click on “submit for approval”
g)After completing the entire process a reference number will be generated that can be used to check the status of the application in the future.
You
will receive a new smart card containing the corrected and updated information
via mail with a month. You can also download the updated information after some
time through the official website.
