Continue A Great Cornelius NC Tradition With The Turkey Trot On Thanksgiving Day

Epic Sports Marketing brings you its run on Thanksgiving Day in Cornelius, North Carolina. The run is intended to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation.

Ar you ready for the launch of the 2019 Lake Norman running festival? The races will take place on Thursday, November 28 from 7 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day is usually associated with a lot of heavy and unnecessary expenditure and eating. The residents of the Lake Norman region in North Carolina have found a unique way to get the day started in a healthy and meaningful manner.

The Thanksgiving Day morning run is now a local tradition in this region. You have races under different age group categories ranging from below 9 years of age right up to over 70 years of age. There are three races of 5, 10, and 15 kilometers. Early bird registration for the 10 and five kilometer races will benefit from lower registration fees.

There are numerous awards for those who do well. If you complete the race, you will receive an event-specific finisher medal. If you are one of the first 1000 registered athletes, you will receive an event-specific unisex long-sleeved t-shirt.

On the day of the race, the registration will open at 6:00 a.m. at Gold Gym on West Catawba Avenue. If you wish to help organize the races as a volunteer, you are encouraged to do so as early as possible. During the race, if you wish to hydrate, ID Life Hydrate will be served on the course.

The event is intentionally starting and ending early in the day, to enable you to enjoy the rest of the holiday with family and friends. The participant age groups are designed so that the entire family across generations can participate in this fun event.
