Contact lenses Acuvue to help keep your eyes in the best condition
by Steven Jones OwnerContact lenses are the safest form of
eye vision correction if you follow the proper cleaning, storing and wearing
procedure. Contact lenses are medical devices and if you don’t follow the
proper using instructions, you can potentially damage your eyes.
Follow these instructions to keep your eyes in
the best condition and increase the durability of your contact lenses:
·
Before you handle
the contact lenses, wash your hands with a mild soap. Your hands should be free
of perfumes, lotions or oils as they can leave a film on your contacts. Your
eyes can feel discomfort or your vision can become blurry if these contaminants
stick on your contact lenses.
·
Dry your hands
with a clean and lint free towel.
·
It is advisable
to keep your fingernails short and smooth as there will be no chances of
damaging your lenses and eyes.
·
Use cosmetic
products like hair spray before you put in your contact lenses, so that no
irritation is caused to your eyes.
·
In case you are
applying eye makeup, apply it after inserting the contacts and take your lenses
out before you remove makeup.
·
Use only the
disinfecting solution and the eye drops that your doctor recommends. Some eye
drops and products are not safe for contact lens wearers.
·
You should never
put water directly on your contacts. Even the distilled water can contain nasty
little bugs that can cause serious infection in your eyes if they enter your
eyes through lens.
·
Clean your
contact lens by rubbing it gently with your index finger by placing in your
hand. Gentle rub can remove the impurities present on it.
·
Wear your contact
lens only for the time duration as being recommended by the eye doctor.
·
Use only hot
water or sterile solution to clean the lens case and replace the case after
every 3 months.
·
Never share your
contact lenses with anyone as they can transfer bacteria from one person’s eye
to another and can lead to serious eye infection.
·
Contact lenses
make your eyes more sensitive towards light and heat. So, it is advisable to
wear sunglasses with UV protection when you step out in the sun.
