It is one thing to go into a restaurant with a wallet in the pocket and quite another thing to carry a checkbook for a site visit. A reputed builder who has confidence in the land will not force potential buyers to pay a signing amount on site. A site often means that the developer is genuine. But at the same time it does not show any reason for signing a check unless the project has under construction homes. If you noticeother projects in a particular area visit them. Try to seek those properties also for comparison. If the genuine developer’s offer is better then go ahead and consider paying a downpayment. Seeing an empty land is not a promise.
