“Toys should be thought of as development learning tool.” Give a kid a new toy- almost any toy-you have got a happy kid. Toys are more than just play things; they should be age-appropriate, stimulating, and safe.

You just cannot buy any toy just because it’s an expensive one, variety is more but the choice made should be appropriate. Keep some tips in mind before you go shopping for toys for kids:

Keep them simple. Toys that do too much don’t allow a child to use their own imagination. The best toys are often the most simple ones- like the BLOCKS

•    Set limits on electronic toys and video games. Toys that have flashing lights and constant changes distracts a child’s attention to any one thing for long, frequent use of such toys makes it difficult for the kid to focus on other things like a book.

•    Don’t fall for toys that call themselves educational. The real educational toys are not flashy gadgets and gizmos with big promises.

•    Keep only few toys out at one time as kids are just inundated with toys. Don’t rush in giving them all the toys in one go instead rotate let them explore fully before introducing a new one

•    Choose age-appropriate toys. Kids grow fast and as they pass through different stages they outgrow toys as well, so age is a bar

o    0-6 months: toys include rattles, blocks, and tethers. This stage they discover their own body

o    6-8 months: kids at this age use infant toys in new ways

o    8-18 months: push and pull toys, nesting cups, shape sorters as they grow they experiment

o    18-24 months: pretend and play, kitchen sets trucks they just love it at this age

o    2-4 years: we are big so we will play Lego, puzzles, just too perfect for this age

Kids learn best when they are having fun!!
