Complete Information For IPU CET 2016 Exam

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University (GGSIPU) conducts the Common Admission Test for taking admission of candidates into various degree courses offered by the University on different dates in the month of May 2016. The CET is conducted both online as well as offline but the medium of Application remains same i.e. Online. The IPU CET 2016 Application form will be available on the website of IP University from mid February 2016 onwards.

GGSIPU has, over the years, grown in stature and receives lakhs of applications for its coveted engineering and other courses such as Law, MBA, M.Tech and Humanities. The University has various centers and around 50 colleges under it as subsidiaries. These colleges have grown in repute over the years and are considered one of the best in the country. Here is the summary of the IPU CET 2016:
Name of the examination: Indraprashtha University Common Entrance Test or IPU CET

  • Level: Undergraduate

The IPU CET 2016 Application form will get released in the month of February 2016 for which the last date of filling would be around mid of April 2016. Here are the important dates for the IPU CET 2016:

  • Date of release of IPU CET 2016 Application form –by 2nd week of February 2016
  • Last date of Application procedure – by 3rd week of April 2016
  • Date of release of IPU CET 2016 Admit card – last week of April or first week of May 2016
  • Date of IPU CET 2016 – 3rd week of May 2016
  • Date of IPU CET 2016 Result –last week of May 2016

The Application form for all the courses is same except for the CET Number of that test. When the candidates fill the application form, they will have to select a CET number for the examination in which they want to appear for.  For engineering section, there would be 150 questions which the candidates need to complete in 2:30 hours. The candidates must also note that they need to fill the OMR only with black pen failing which their OMR might get cancelled.

IPU CET 2016 Eligibility:


The candidates who wish to apply for the IPU CET 2016 must fulfill certain eligibility criteria in order to do so. The candidates must have passed class 12th examination with at least 60% marks and must have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics in  class 12th to appear in the CET 131 i.e. B.Tech entrance examination. Similarly, the candidates need to fulfill the eligibility for other courses as well.

IPU CET 2016 Test centers:

The IPU CET 2016 will be conducted at the following centers across the country. There are nine centers and the candidates can choose at least 2 centers to appear for the examination. The cities are Bangalore, Bhopal, Delhi, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata and Lucknow.

IPU CET 2016 Application fee:

The candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs.750 either through Credit card/Debit card or through net banking. There won’t be any alternative option to pay the Application fee.

For filling the IPU CET 2016 Application form, the candidates need to follow the following instructions:

  • Visit the official website of IPU.
  • Find the link of the Application form.
  • Furnish the CET Number and other requisite information asked in the Application form.
  • Upload the photograph and signature in the given format.
  • Pay the Application fee and the form would get completed.
