The west Bengal Joint Examination Board (WBJEEB), the responsible authority to conduct the WBJEE MEDICAL 2016 on 17th may 2016 for which the WBJEE 2016 Application form will get released by the last week of December 2015. The examination is conducted for 85% of the medical seats in the WBJEEB affiliated state and private medical colleges under the state of West Bengal.

Over the years, the state of West Bengal has become the pivot of medical innovational education and this can be understood by the growing n umber of medical colleges in the state and in Kolkata in particular. There are about 50 Medical colleges which are affiliated to WBJEEB and which selects the candidates from the joint entrance examination conducted by the board in the month of May 2016. This year the WBJEE MEDICAL 2016 Joint Examination will be conducted on 17th may 2016. Every year, lakhs of students scamper to take this examination in order to get admission into the prestigious medical colleges of the country who regularly features among the top ranks.

 The overview of the examination is as follows:

The WBJEE MEDICAL 2016 Application form will get released by the last week of December and as per the tradition followed every year, the candidates will get around a month to fill the Application form and submit the examination fee. Here are the tentative important dates for the WBJEE MEDICAL 2016:

  • Date of commencement of registration process: by last week of December 2015
  • Last date to register for the WBJEE 2016: By last week of February 2016
  • Date of release of WBJEE 206 Admit card : By 2nd week of April 2016
  • Date of Examination: 17th May 2016

Eligibility criteria for the WBJEE 2016 Medical Examination:

  • The candidates must be an Indian Citizen.
  • They must have attained the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2015
  • The candidates must be residing for at least 10 years continuously
  • The candidates must have studied Physics, chemistry and Biology at the higher secondary level and must have secured at least 55% marks to be able to fill the Application form. The OBC candidates need to score 45% marks in order to qualify and the SC/ST candidates require 40% for the same.

WBJEE 2016 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The WBJEE 2016 Medical examination will be an objective based examination with multiple choice questions (MCQs) where the candidates will have to select one of the four options provided there. The WBJEE 2016 Medical examination will have a total of 195 questions which will be divided into two timings. The Biology section will contain 195 questions whereas the Physics and Chemistry sections will have 40 questions each. The candidates will have to fill the correct response in the Objective Response Sheet (ORS). The Biology section will have 150 minutes whereas the candidates will have to finish the Physics and Chemistry section in 120 minutes. Each question will carry 1 mark and for every incorrect answer 33% of the mark will be deducted.

How to fill the WBJEE 2016 Medical Application form?

  • The candidates need to follow the following instructions which will guide them to fill the WBJEE 2016 Medical Application form correctly:
  • First of all, the aspiring candidates will require to access the website of WBJEEB which has been hosted here Official Website.
  • Once the website is accessed, the candidates will be required to click on the ‘Apply’ tab which will ask them to furnish some of the information given below.
  • They will be required to choose the exam for which they are opting for like Engineering, Medical or Both.
  • They will need to furnish their full Name, name of their parents, date of Birth, Home Address, and Address of communication, Nationality and phone number as well as their email id. The information must be in cognizance with the class 10th Certificate of the student.
  • They will also need to give the information of the income of their parents (mother as well as father) in annuation terms
  • They will then have to furnish their marks details and choose three choice centers where they want to appear in the examination.
  • They will then need to upload their recently taken photograph and signature in the specified format and pay the application fee either through credit card/debit card or through net banking.
  • Once the admission fee is paid, the application process will be termed successful.
