Clueless: A Mystery TV Series Reboot on the Way

by Aida Martin Norton Setup

The 1995 released hit coming-of-age rom-com Clueless is being rebooted with a little twist. The Alicia Silverstone starrer flick was a hit among the teens in the 90s, and CBS TV Studios looks forward to rekindling that spark again.

The movie was directed and written by Amy Heckerling, and it surrounded Cher Horowitz, played by Silverstone. Cher is a dream-come-true girl who people adore for her wealth and popularity in the Bronson Alcott High School’s social circles. She is accompanied by her bestie Dionne who is played by Stacey Dash. Cher locks her eyes on the newcomer Tai (played by Brittney Murphy) in order to provide her a complete makeover.

Hilarious events unroll after Tai gets more popular than Cher, and it gets more complicated as Cher starts falling for her ex-stepbrother. Paul Rudd plays the character of Josh, Cher’s ex-stepbrother. The novel Emma by Jane Austen loosely inspires the flick. The film had a massive impact on jargon, self-expression, and fashion trends at the time. After over 20 years of its release, the film is going to be readopted as a TV sitcom spin-off.

The spin-off will look like what would happen when Riverdale meets Mean Girls. It is going to be a contemporary mystery show with Dionne in the center instead of beloved Cher. After the sudden disappearance of Cher, Dionne has to step as the most popular one in the school while solving the mysterious events due to which Cher disappeared.

The series will be produced by the talented Tiffany Grant, Robert Lawrence, and Corinne Brinkerhoff (Jane the Virgin). The storyline will be written by Gus Hickey (Will and Grace) and Jordan Reddout. More information will come out as the production date will come near. It is going to be really intriguing to watch as to who plays the role of Dionne. CBS TV Studios is going to have their hands full with Walker’s development, a remake of CW’s Texas Ranger, and engagement in Netflix’s Dead to Me.

The fans see Dionne Davenport as the best friend ever in the entirety of movie history. The intriguing right-hand of Cher was the glue that was in charge of holding the school halls together while also managing a stunning fashion sense and tough exterior. Seeing that over two decades have passed since Clueless engaged the teenagers, this seems like the correct time to get a makeover for the story. Everyone is excited to see the fan-beloved Dionne getting the screen time she deserves.

Seeing how it is said to be a Mean Girl meeting Riverdale meeting Lizzo music video, the fans simply cannot stay put. The news has managed to stir up the needed hype; now it remains to be seen what the spin-off actually delivers.
