Today organizations are moving away from the traditional set-up of having a staff of full time employees working for a fixed number of hours out of a brick and mortar office. As times change, more and more employees are freelancers and the concept of ‘work-from-home’ too is on the rise. As the demand for freelancers’ increases, the expectations and demands from employers also increase. No longer can you be termed as a good freelancer if all you offer is your service. There are many other factors to consider if you’re looking to be the kind of freelance professional who is sought after and is always scouted out for projects by the best in the industry.

Providing what you promised at the time you promised it always goes a long way. However, always be punctual in all your communications to clients. Be it reminder emails, phone calls, emails or anything else – always be on time. Professionals who are not punctual are not considered as capable.

Freelance client servicing jobs in India are still not at the level that they are in other countries which go to show that as a community, we are still not well-versed in what client servicing really entails. One of the most important factors is to be accessible to your clients at all times. Be it when they have an unexpected task for you or if they have certain queries to discuss – you should get back to them in as short time as possible. However, always remain reachable.

Apart from this, always make sure to deliver quality work. No matter how accessible or punctual you are, it will not be of any significance if you produce shoddy or sub-par work.
