Indoor air quality has been the topic of much debate for years. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) nearly 6.5 million deaths worldwide occurred due to air pollution which includes both indoor and outdoor contamination. For maintaining proper health, breathing in clean air is absolutely important. Most of the pollution in the air is contributed by the inefficient transport system, factories and power plants. Dusty areas especially those near the deserts have more allergens and dust particles. Globally, one out of every nine death takes place owing to pollution. This scenario has aroused consciousness for more pollution monitoring and finding out new ways of controlling the situation and the death rates.

Various campaigns are being initiated worldwide to control the current situation and improve both outdoor and indoor air quality. The clean air India movement is an important campaign launched in India some months back by the India head of Blueair, Mr Vijay Kannan. The movement aims to educate, encourage and engage the people towards adopting practices that can keep the air clean. The measures include using more of public conveyance, planting trees, quitting smoke, and using air purifiers at home and work space. Statistics show that indoor air is as damaging as outdoor air and many people spend most of their lives indoors. Therefore, a lot of stress is being placed on the purification system of the air inside the rooms.

The designing and installation of world-class air purifiers is a primary requirement and much is being done to popularise the concept. In India, the concept of using a formal purification system is slowly catching up and a lot of work is left. The common thinking is that if the outside air is highly polluted then why an indoor purification system worth thousands of rupees should be purchased at all. This thought has to be changed. The governments are trying to arouse consciousness regarding the means of reducing air pollution but people should make an attempt to stay safe and healthy even indoors.

Every day a new brand of air purifier is making its way in the market hoping to make a difference in the buyer’s mentality. They are trying to woo the customers using the latest technological expertise but only established brands are able to offer the best to the clients. HEPA silent technology, for instance, is the latest breakthrough in air purification science and is causing waves among the users. Built according to international standards, the HEPA technology stops the entry of 99.97% allergens inside the rooms where it is installed. Many companies use HEPA-like technology but it is best to opt for machines that use true-HEPA.

Since environmental consciousness forms the basis of using air purifiers, many manufacturing units are opting to build their machines out of recyclable materials which offer extended life. When the home air purifier is no longer working then also it can be deconstructed into recyclable resources. Thus, there is zero chemical outgassing and toxin release in the environment from the machines.
