Christmas Quiz: Why Christmas Trivia Quizzes Are Popular

by Shubham Raheja manager

Christmas humorous quizzes are popular with large numbers of pubs, bars, clubs, institutions and even churches, so what's the appeal of a Christmas quiz such places will hold a Online trivia quiz at Christmas and New Year but not in any other time?  Mainly because people can go out and do things at Christmas they would not normally do and because they can't afford to really go out much for the remainder of the season - but at Christmas...

Below are some tips on setting a great Christmas quiz that everybody will love.  It will not help you this year by producing a fabulous quiz, but it will next year once the word has got around that your quizzes would be the best in the district.  I will split this into business, the questions themselves and marketing, because all three of these factors are involved with a good quiz.

Organization of Your Christmas Quiz

Here are some tips on organizing a quiz of any sort:

A) Be sure there are enough seats offered for your anticipated participants.  Tables should preferably be split to avoid cheating, but if you expect a great deal of people you will have to make best use of the space you've got and hope to be honest.

B) Supply paper for the answers - you could design an answer sheet with Excel and photocopy enough for each group.  If you provide pens, but even in the event that you can't, you need to have a couple of spare pens for those that don't recognize they will need you to get a Christmas Quiz!

C) Set the rules concerning amounts per team.  I have run quizzes that have a max of 4, 6 or 5 or maybe no maximum.  It is reasonable for any team over 7 to divide into two, although you are able to make your own choice on that and advertise it on your posters.

P ) State the rules prior to the start: No cheating (punish 5 factors ), no visits to the toilet with cellular phones through a rounded, your replies are ALWAYS right (even if they are not): deduct points for arguing (even if they're appropriate ).

E) Time limitations for questions are tough to apply, so give half a minute or so depending upon the query.  Once everybody seems to have replied it continues to another. If they are taking too long for a specific query give them 10 more seconds and then proceed to another.

F) When indicating a Christmas quiz it is easiest if each team moves their paper round to the team next to them in a clockwise direction - or into the team closest to them.  You shouldn't mark all the documents yourself or the quiz will take too much time.

G) I should have made this one of the first tips: Be sure all participants understand the prizes.  Perhaps the bar can put a jar of wine, however, it is generally better if the winning team gets a free drink or two per day, or something which can be shared.  Also offer a booby prize for example little box of chocolates or something similar.

One pub I regularly place quizzes for offers four good prizes - a jar of spirits, also a bottle of wine, free drink for each team member and also a box of Quality Street or even Roses.  Winners, 2nd and 3rd get their choice in that order, and the group coming last gets the trophy left. That provides the poorer teams a positive attention.

Your Christmas quiz questions or answers should have a connection with Christmas, and each round ought to be different.  My typical Christmas amusing quizzes are ordered so, and a good example would be:

One rounded Christmas amusing, where either the query or the response has a Christmas connection, for instance which actor received an Oscar for her performance as best performer in 'The Piano'.  The solution is Holly Hunter, together with holly being the link.

Another type of round could be Christmas songs: questions on Christmas No 1 strikes, or with a seasonal connection in the title.  Another could be Christmas films or TV shows - I am confident you can imagine different kinds of quiz questions that are linked with Christmas.   You might even have a 50/50 round: false or true or a suspect between one of two answers.

Constantly have some additional questions it is possible to add in the quiz if needed as for a tie break.  I typically include 10 extra questions which could be used in place of routine questions in the quiz or as link breaks.
