Choosing the right asbestos awareness training provider

by HSQE UK professional online training courses

Asbestos, otherwise known as 'the hidden killer', generally takes a long time to follow into a life-threatening disease but once diagnosed, it can be just about impossible to recover from. Therefore, huge importance is being placed upon formal training to prevent employees against asbestos.

It is imperative to make certain that any training is supplied by a provider who complies with the approved codes of practice set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). According to the Regulation 10 of the Approved Code of Practice L143, it is paramount that an Asbestos Awareness Course should be delivered by someone who is adept to do so and who has a theoretical understanding of all relevant aspects of the work being carried out in any workplace.

Having a familiarity with the inner-workings of the business will ensure that comprehensive training can be undertaken and the risks of exposure to asbestos will be ablated. The Health and Safety Executive is presently working with training associations and trade associations to see to it that there are uniformly high standards set when it comes to training providers.

Training will generally occur within a dedicated place incorporating both theoretical and practical approaches to effectively defend both yourself and your employees against illnesses. Once trained, it is important that construction workers participate in an annual refresher course, if needed. These can be carried out through online IOSH training courses, minimising both the course cost and time that labour spends away from place of work.
