Choose the most comfortable and reliable salon furniture for your spa salon
by monika r. ConsultantSpa salon furniture wouldn’t necessarily be
classed as a hot topic in the industry, yet it remains an area of key
importance. Furniture as a critical component in the creation of salon or spa’s
look and feel, is a fundamental part of the client satisfaction. Comfort,
durability, hygiene, cost, design and aesthetic, size and functionality have a
big value during the decision-making process of your clients. To help you with
your furniture purchasing decisions, we made a guide to some of the key items
for your spa salon.
Pedicure chairs
These chairs generally require access to a
water source and can be configured in different ways, either as an all-in-one
unit with the chair and wash basin or as two separate elements. For pedicure
chairs integrating water sources, look for chairs with pipeless jet systems
because it's more hygienic. Durability, comfort, hygiene and the ability to
easily and safely clean a pedicure chair must be also considered in other areas
of the furniture design. Height adjustable chairs are a definite advantage as
well. Also, don't forget where the technician will be positioned during the
procedures.
Styling chairs
Comfort is unsurprisingly the key concern
here. Clients can spend a long time sitting in them. Styling chairs should be
well-cushioned, have lumbar support, padded armrests and footrests. Ensure that
the seats are height-adjustable and made from a durable and easy to clean
materials. Durability is also very important. Look for well-built chairs that
won’t scratch, damage, squeak, rust or wear and tear easily. Also, consider how
the design of the chairs will fit in with the overall look of your salon. If
you're looking for bigger chairs, you may have to consider purchasing one or
two fewer than you planned.
Styling stations and trolleys
The key point of the station or trolley is
that it is a mobile storage unit, so the stylist has all the important items in
an organized and easy to access space. As with other items of spa or salon
furniture, the most important factor here is functionality. Select a trolley or
station that is practical in size and will easily store all the items you need.
Also, don't forget about the height of these items as well. Hair stylists
usually stand up all day. If we speak about the stations for nail technicians,
these often double up as areas for clients to rest their feet on, or
technicians to sit on during the treatment. So, take that into account too.
Massage beds and treatment tables
These items may also be known as couches or
loungers, and while bying them a ‘try before you buy’ policy is needed. Your
clients will spend more than 60 minutes on them, and any discomfort experienced
will reflects on your client's satisfaction. Consider the width of the bed and
think about how these items will be used in treatments. Nowadays massage beds
and tables come with a big amount of options.
But sturdiness and durability are essential for this type of furniture.
Height adjustability is also very important. A plus point can become the option
of heating or warming the bed.
Make your salon furniture the central figure of your spa salon and people will always come to you!
