What is GATE?

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2018) is an All-India examination which organizing in eight zones across the country. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is being conducted by the IISc, Bangalore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.

Get Details of GATE Examination:

Course: M.Tech. /Ph.D. programme in IITs, IISc and various other institutions.

Number of Papers: There are total 23 papers in GATE Notification. Candidates are allowed to appear in only one of the 23 papers.

Mode of Examination: Candidates can apply only through online mode (CBT).

Exam Duration: Duration of GATE Exam will be 3 hours.

Number of Questions: There are in total 65 questions containing 100 marks.

Marking Scheme: Candidates will get score according to MCQ and NAT questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers

Negative Marking: In GATE Examination, there will be deduction of 1/3 marks in every wrong attempt for the questions of1 mark.

Type of Questions:

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): 4 choices will be given while there is not a single options provided for NAT.
• Numerical Answer Type Questions: Aspirants need enter the real number in Numerical Answer Type Questions with the help of virtual keypad.
